Every fall, the ladies of our church host an International Tea. The gymnasium is transformed by the very hardworking and talented table hostesses and volunteers. The table settings are limited only by the imagination. Some are set with family heirlooms. Some settings are modern and unique. One of the table hostesses this year was born in Africa and her table has an African theme. However, she told me she found the unique dinnerware with Bible verses at a thrift shop.
I was Shirley’s honored guest along with my Hitty sister who was carved by Jenny Anderson. We found that we were not the only dolls in attendance. Really, who doesn’t want to get dressed up and go to tea?
Our guest speaker this year was Janice Cole, who attended our church before leaving to serve as a nurse in South Africa.
I thought you might like to see some of the beautiful tables.
