Joshua Buffington was eleven years old when he first started carving with his grandfather, a master wood carver who had been carving for more than 30 years.
“He always carved the good stuff— like hand held things that one could get attached to real easy,” says Josh.
That could easily be said of the Hitty Dolls carved by Joshua Buffington. They are exquisitely detailed and delicate. Joshua’s first dolls were created in West Virginia about seven years ago. He now carves in Texas.
The Sunny State Hitty House recently welcomed a new member created by this talented artist. We call her Buffy. We especially like her big blue eyes reminiscent of the blue bells from her home state of Texas.
Josh Buffington Hitty Dolls are some of the most unique you will see. They are One of a Kind, often multi-jointed and very desirable to collectors. You will sometimes find them on ebay. Here is an affiliate link to the ebay Hitty Doll Search.
